I love Chai
But really. They have LOCAL, HANDGROUND, CHAI in Panama. What the fuck am I supposed to do without it? I have no doubt I can go to a tea store in Montreal (the corner of Saint Mathieu and Lincoln or Guy and Sherbrooke St West just to name the two closest to me) and wrangle some. But what will the price be? Living in the centre of a large city is fucking muy caro let me tell you. Speaking of living in the middle of a major city - how oh fucking how I miss my Montreal. I particularly walking up and down Sherbrooke St West - there are so few truly captivating and venerable streets in Canada - Robson, Yonge, Laurier/Grand Allée - Montreal is fortunate to have both Sainte Catherine and Sherbrooke (two very different faces of the same city). I miss the buildings from the Gilded Age and the City Beautiful period masterpieces. I don't give a fuck what anyone says - public buildings (and the larger private ones) shouldn't make economic sense. Throw the damn money into making something beautiful - it gives us the Rockefeller Centers and Empire State Buildings of the world - not First Canadian Place or Brunswick Square. Apartment hunting is on - there is only a very narrow part of the city I am interested in living in. The Greene - Guy area in general, leaning toward the Westmount side. There is also an area including and immediately to the north of Guy and Sherbrooke West which I find quite attractive and reasonably priced. We shall have to look around and see what we can dig up! With that aside, Ruan's visit to Panama is going quite swimmingly. She, I and essentially everyone else from Canada miss the lifestyle of home but not the presently unpleasant weather.
